What do places tell us?
How can we look "below the surface" of
a place to learn more?
How might places transform us?
When people come together, can places transform our actions?

Good research answers important questions and asks many more.
Here you will find some of the questions that came from
work we have already done through the Powers of Place Initiative.
Some were sparked by the pilot study conducted by Renee Levi,
others from conversations we have organized with people who
share similar interests and activities, and still more will
come in the course of the work ahead.
We invite you to read and contemplate these questions and
to contribute others. Some of these questions are finding
communities
of conversation on our site; we welcome you into
these conversations, and invite you to start up inquiries
based on others that intrigue you, as well.
